“True hospitality consists of giving the best of yourself to your guests.” -Eleanor Roosevelt
As I stepped into the restaurant, I was overjoyed with the excitement of expanding our family business. I stared at the walls, and I knew that Hudson and I had our work cut out for quite some time. Video games…skateboards… Legos…. We traded all of that in for a mop and broom to tidy the restaurant. It was a complete mess. There was dirt covering every inch of the floor, and the walls were covered in hideous floral wallpaper. Hudson was snatching the wallpaper off the walls from his perch on the ladder. Meanwhile, I was on sweeping duty. There was dust flying everywhere from that wallpaper that was, thankfully, being torn off the walls. The dust was allowing us to become a sneezing, snorting band of three. We were a wreck.
The walls turned out to be just the beginning. Dad handed me a bottle of Clorox, some gloves, a cloth, and a toilet brush and told me to get to work in the bathroom. The bathroom was even worse than the kitchen. The toilet had a nasty black ring on it and was as dry as the Sahara Desert. Dad came in and twisted several knobs, and the water rushed back in. I wiped out the sink, and I swept the floor carefully. Of course, there were dead bugs and dirt in every crack, corner, and crevice.
Ever since day one of the Renovation Revelation (credits go to Dad for the name), the restaurant has started to sparkle like a diamond. I believe that our restaurant, The Holy Hell Kitchen, will be as successful as our food truck, The Gospel Chick. We focus on customer service and radical southern hospitality. As Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “True hospitality consists of giving the best of yourself to your guests.” The Gospel Chick focuses on making sure our customers have the best possible experience. For example, we use only the freshest products available. Our herbs, such as thyme and rosemary come from our very own container garden. Our products are always fresh, for our valued customers. As for the radical southern hospitality, we always put forth our best manners and effort to satisfy you. We sell food that brings the south to you. We plan on being successful, by the grace of God. That is The Gospel Chick & The Holy Hell Kitchen’s promise to you, radical southern hospitality and superior customer service, because we only serve our customers the best!
